London, London • England
London is the one UK city where the usual advice inverts: staying central is usually the wrong answer for a work crew. Cross-London travel is the real tax — a crew based in Stratford loses ninety minutes a day driving to a site in Park Royal. We place crews in crew-sized houses and flats on the corridor they actually work on, inside the M25 where the job needs it and just outside where it doesn't, with parking that works for vans rather than against them. This is our contractor accommodation London overview — the borough pages linked below go deeper on each patch.
The sensible question in London is never 'which borough' — it is 'which corridor'. A crew on a west London site belongs around Park Royal, Alperton or Wembley, with the A40 and A406 close at hand. North-side jobs point at Tottenham Hale, Enfield or Barnet, straight up the A10 or M11. East means Stratford, Ilford or the A13 corridor; south means Croydon, Bromley or Kingston, where the M25 and A3 are minutes away rather than an hour.
Inside the North Circular you pay central-London prices for rooms your crew won't enjoy and vans that can't park. Between the North Circular and the M25 is the sweet spot for most contracts: proper houses with driveways, two bathrooms, and a kitchen that fits more than two people at once.
East London is where most crew-sized houses are: contractor accommodation in Stratford for the Olympic Park, Lower Lea Valley and Docklands jobs, Walthamstow and Ilford for the A406 and the eastern approaches, and Hackney when the job is on the City fringe. South of the river, Greenwich and Croydon cover the A2 and A23 corridors.
Central London is a different brief. Westminster, Paddington and Kensington are mostly flats with permit parking, which suits fit-out and M&E teams on foot or on the Elizabeth line rather than gangs with vans. West London jobs around Park Royal and Old Oak Common are usually better served from Ealing or Hammersmith, and north London from Islington.
London is the hardest city in the UK to park a works van, and it is the detail most accommodation providers skip. Most inner boroughs run controlled parking zones from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday — leave a sign-written van on the street overnight and your crew starts the day with a ticket before they've had breakfast.
We prioritise properties with driveways, allocated bays or private parking, and where street parking is the only option we check the CPZ hours and permit costs before we propose the property, not after. Since August 2023 the ULEZ covers every London borough, so non-compliant vans also pay £12.50 a day to move around the capital — another reason the right base, near site, matters more here than anywhere else.
A crew of one can ride the tube. A crew of eight with toolboxes, PPE and materials travels by van, and one van means one base — splitting a crew across two properties on opposite sides of London costs you an hour a day each way and doubles the parking problem.
Our default for multi-week London contracts is a single whole property within a short drive of site, with space for the van off-street overnight. For crews rotating between two sites — a common pattern with rail possession and utilities work — we look for bases near the M25 interchange that connects both, so neither end of the job becomes a commute.
London has the deepest accommodation market in the UK and the shallowest supply of crew-appropriate properties — good whole houses with parking go first. For a single property up to six heads, 48 to 72 hours notice is usually enough for us to return a shortlist and have keys ready. For ten or more heads, or anything around a major infrastructure programme, a week's notice protects the quality of what we can hold for you.
Every London let runs on the same terms as the rest of the network: bills, Wi-Fi and weekly cleaning included, one monthly invoice to your company paid by card, and no minimum crew or stay.
Send us the requirement — town, dates, headcount, vehicles and any shift pattern we should know about. We come back within 2 hours with a shortlist from property we already hold, not a search we have just started. You pick, we confirm, the crew moves in, and we stay on it for the length of the job. One monthly invoice, card payment for limited companies, no booking fees.
The part on the same corridor as the site. A crew working in Stratford should not be based in Hammersmith, however good the house. Send the site postcode and we shortlist on drive or train time to the gate — usually east London for vans and gangs, central flats only when the crew travels by rail.
For up to six heads we typically return a shortlist within 2 working hours and can have a crew moved in within 48-72 hours. Larger crews or multi-property requirements are best planned a week ahead.
Wherever possible we place crews in properties with driveways, allocated bays or private parking. If a property relies on street parking we check the controlled parking zone hours and permit costs before proposing it, so there are no tickets waiting for your crew.
The ULEZ covers all London boroughs, so a non-compliant van pays £12.50 per day. We factor this into where we base a crew — the closer to site, the fewer chargeable miles your vans clock up.
No. Two people for a fortnight is as welcome as twenty for two years. Most London lets run by the month with rolling terms after the first 28 days.
We place crews on the corridor they work — west (Park Royal, Wembley, Alperton), north (Tottenham Hale, Enfield, Barnet), east (Stratford, Ilford, A13 corridor) and south (Croydon, Bromley, Kingston) — and just outside the M25 where the job allows.
Rent, council tax, gas, electric, water, Wi-Fi, bed linen and a weekly clean. Your crew arrives with a bag and works; your accounts team gets one monthly invoice.
Yes. Stays over 28 days are priced monthly with better rates the longer the commitment. Tell us the programme length and we will quote the whole project in one figure.
One monthly invoice to your company, payment by card, no deposits per head or per property. The rate we quote is the rate you pay — bills are already in it.
